Operation and general accessory condition should be checked by the following criteria:

• Leaf motion ease
• Accessory component fixture
• Accessory components wear
• Accessory components damage
  
  

Motion ease

Accessory motion can be checked through leaf opening.
Motion ease can be improved buy OILING or accessory adjustment. ROTO tilt and turn accessories can be adjusted by three axes.

Accessory component fixture

Correct and safe window operation depends on secure accessory fixture.
One should check nesting and fixture of each screw in wood or plastic.
If fixture weakens, the screw needs to be tightened. 

Accessory components wear

In order to avoid accessory wear, all critical components need to be oiled as per instructions herein. 

Accessory components damage

The damaged components need to be replaced, especially critical components (hinges, scissors).

Caution!

! Рarts are to be adjusted and replaced by certified personnel, as well as window leaf mounting and dismantling. Incorrect adjustment can cause the window failure. 
! Accessory components should be protected from debris, paint, plaster, concrete and other foreign items during construction. 
! Do not use detergents containing acid and other aggressive compounds. This could damage protective coating of the accessories.

а) Never put additional vertical load onto leaf	b) Avoid strong pressure and/or collision between leaf and frame
c) Do not put foreign objects between frame and leaf	d) Keep away from children. Use opening protection measures (e,g. lockable window handles)
e) Never leave the window opened in a strong wind (use restraints)	f) Caution! Leaf collision can cause physical injury. Never put your hands between leaf and frame.

Incorrect operation!!! In case a leaf remains hanging on a single lower hinge with the scissors tilted, as a result of incorrect operation, do not be afraid!  In order to restore correct window functioning , do the following:  You might need assistance.  Ask your assistant to press the tilted edge of the leaf athwart its surface, in order to press the upper edge to a hinge. Press the blocker handle (near the leaf) handle with one hand and turn the handle into horizontal position with the other. The scissors at the leaf and frame should connect. Pull the blocker handle down.

“Closed” position (handle points down)

“Tilt” position (handle points up)

Maintenance 

Fixture security and wear of critical parts should be controlled regularly. Carefully tighten the fixture screws if needed or call for a certified professional to replace the components. Moreover, one should carry out the following maintenance at least yearly: All moving parts and locks of the tilt-and-turn accessories need to be oiled. Oil should be applied with a brush (engine oil can be used); Do not use cleaning detergents damaging the underseal of the accessories;   Accessory (especially lower hinges and scissors) adjustment, as well as component replacement and leaf mounting/dismantling should be carried by professionals.
